The History of Cristalino
This unique type of tequila was first developed by Don Julio, one of Mexico’s most distinguished producers. Tequila cristalino is newer on the market — Don made the first batch in 2011, and it was called Don Julio 70 to commemorate his 70th birthday. It was originally called añejo claro and only became cristalino later on.
Don started this tequila as an añejo, aging it for 18 months in American white oak barrels. Then, the charcoal filtration enhanced the crispness and flavors of the agave, citrus, and fruit notes that are typical of a blanco. It also retained the sweet vanilla and caramel notes of an añejo.
The result is a tequila that’s taking the liquor world by storm. Get this tequila delivered today to experience its unique flavor palette for yourself.
